CORDILLERA REAL
“The Cordillera Real” is a mountain range in the highlands of Bolivia.
This range mountain is 125 km long and 20 km wide. Although it is
only 17° south of the equator, the Cordillera Real is home to
numerous glaciers. This is due to it’s proximity to the Amazon
basin with it’s large masses of humid air.
It is the mountain range that constitutes the eastern and most
important branch of the Andes mountain range in Bolivia. It has an
extension of approximately 1200 km long and has more than 600
peaks of which the altitude exceeds 5000 meters.
