CORDILLERA BLANCA

“The Cordillera Blanca” is a mountain range located in the highlands
of the department of Ancash, Peru. It is part of the Andes mountain
range and extends for about 200 km, being the most extensive
snow-capped tropical mountain range in the Andes, with 35 peaks
that exceed 19,685 ft above sea level, more than 500 lakes
and 722 individual glaciers.

It is located in northwestern Peru and runs parallel to the “Santa River valley” (also called
“Callejón de Huaylas”). “The Huascaran National Park”, established in 1975 to protect the
ecosystem of this mountain range, was designated by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve
in 1977 and as a Natural World Heritage Site in 1985.

We can organize a tailor-made trip for you, depending on the amount of days you have
available and the technical level. Within this mountain range the options are very varied,
being able to do high altitude trekking passing the 14,700 ft, or climbing mountains
of different difficulties and heights but always with an unbeatable mountain atmosphere.
